OBJECTIVE
To enhance our fitness level. Learn skills that can be used for a life-time of fitness. Interact with peers in a positive manner.
CLASSROOM RULES
1. RESPECT
Respect means that you will treat your peers and teacher the way you want to be treated. Respect means that you will listen and follow the directions that are given in class. You will use the equipment in the manner that it was intended to be used. Respect means that you will leave other peoples clothes alone that are in the locker rooms. It also means that you will be prepared for class by having your clothes. Respect also means that you will show good sportsmanship when participating in the activities.
2. BEST EFFORT
Best effort means that you always put forth the effort needed to learn. Best effort means that you are active and participating to the best of your ability.
3. KEEP GUM AND CANDY OUT OF YOUR MOUTH
If you have gum or candy in your mouth, I will ask you to put it in the trash can.
4. YOU ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A NOTE IF YOU CANNOT PARTICIPATE
This is a participating class. Unless you have a note stating why you cannot participate, you are required to participate in class. You are given five free absences/notes for the year. On the sixth absence, you will not earn your points for the day. That will continue for the remainder of the year. However, you can make up those points that you missed out on either before school or after school. You will be doing physical activity for 30 minutes. I reserve the authority to rule on any absence/note. REMEMBER, this is an activity class and you are graded on participation. If you are not in class, how can you earn participation points?
5. CELL PHONES
No cell phones in the locker room. Please put the phones in the box by the coaches office.
6. GRADING
You are graded on participation (which means you are moving your body). Changing clothes and standing around is not participation. Full participation each day is worth 4 points. If an extended period of time is lost due to an injury, the teacher and student will decide how to grade the participation part of class.
7. CLOTHES
Clean T-shirt, gym shorts, socks and tennis shoes. Shoes will be the normal tie. Shirts cannot be torn, cannot have the sleeves cut out and no questionable material written on it. No one can just wear an undershirt by itself. Girls cannot wrap your bra strap around your sleeves. Shorts must have elastic around the waist band. The shorts are to be worn on the waist.
